**Today is the eighth day of Chaitra Navratri**
Today is Ashtami Tithi (eighth lunar day) of Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) of Chaitra month. As a result, today is the eighth day of Chaitra Navratri. This day is also known as Maha Ashtami or Durga Ashtami. On this special occasion, Mahagauri—the eighth and most beautiful form of Goddess Durga—is worshipped.
