Barabanki, Amrit Vichar. On Thursday, on the holy coincidence of Ashtami of Chaitra Navratri and Ram Navami, a wonderful atmosphere of reverence and faith was seen across the district. According to astrological calculations, this year the importance of the festival increased due to the auspicious coincidence of Durgashtami and Ram Navami falling on the same day. Long queues of devotees started forming in the temples since morning and the atmosphere became devotional with the chants of Maa Durga. Devotees worshiped Maa Durga by performing havan and puja as per rituals.
Special arrangements for Kanya Puja were organized in homes and temples, where devotees considered small girls as their mothers, worshiped them, fed them and presented gifts. Ramcharit Manas was also recited in temples. There was a crowd of devotees in the temples of rural areas like Jwala Devi and Naina Devi including Badi Mata Temple located at Gulriyagarda of the city, Chhoti Mata Temple of Rasoolpur, Dudheshwar Mahadev Temple, Santoshi Mata Temple located at Satyapreminagar, Purvi Devi Temple, Mudkati Devi Temple, etc. There was a crowd of devotees since morning.
Devotees stood in queues for hours to have darshan of Mata Rani while cheering. Women made the atmosphere more devotional by singing devotional songs in the temples. Chunari was offered to Maa Mahagauri and the goddess temples were grandly decorated. Attractive tableaux of Mother Goddess were decorated in many temples of the city, crowds of devotees gathered to see its beauty. After performing havan-puja at home, the devotees first went to the temples and had darshan of Mata Rani and later organized a Kanya Bhoj and followed the traditions with devotion.
Pandit Nityanand Bajpai told that it is described in the Balkhand of Ramcharitmanas that Lord Ram was born on the ninth date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month during Abhijeet Muhurta i.e. in the afternoon. This is the reason why Madhyayan Kaal is observed to celebrate Ram Navami, which falls on Thursday. Therefore, it was best to celebrate Ram Janmotsav on Thursday itself. Although many people recognize Udayatithi. In such a situation, they will celebrate the festival of Ram Navami on Friday.
