Lucknow, Amrit Vichar. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will start the Chhath program at the ghat by offering the first Arghya to the Sun God at 4 pm on October 27. National President of All India Bhojpuri Samaj, Prabhunath Rai met the Chief Minister on Thursday and discussed the preparations.

He requested the Chief Minister to declare October 27 and 28 as a public holiday in the entire state, so that devotees can worship Chhath Maiya without any hindrance. During this, the Chief Minister said that instructions have been issued to all the districts for smoothly organizing Chhath festival in the state.

This year, under the leadership of Prabhunath Rai, the 41st Chhath Mahaparva is being organized grandly at the Laxman Mela Ground located on the Gomati bank of Lucknow. The ghats at the venue are being cleaned, painted and decorated with Madhubani painting. The Mahaparva will conclude with ‘Nahay-Khay’ on 25th October, ‘Kharna’ on 26th October, evening Arghya on 27th October and morning Arghya on 28th October.

During this, Chief Minister Yogi along with BJP State President Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, Energy Minister AK Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Amarpal Maurya, Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal and many distinguished guests will be present.

200 folk artists will give cultural presentations

Cultural programs will also be organized on Chhath Mahaparva, in which about 200 folk artistes including famous folk singers Kalpana Patwari (Assam), Gopal Rai (Ballia) and Suresh Shukla (Mumbai) will perform continuously for 18 hours.

Society officials Manoj Singh, Ved Prakash Rai, Sunil Singh, Suresh Kushwaha, Ambrish Rai and other associates are actively engaged in the arrangements and decoration of Chhath Ghat. Bhojpuri society has expressed hope that under the guidance of the Chief Minister, this year’s Chhath festival will become a wonderful confluence of devotion, faith and folk culture not only in Lucknow but in the entire state.
