Diwali 2025: New Guinness World Record to Ayodhya's Deepotsav, more than 26 lakh lamps will be illuminated by Ramnagari

Ayodhya: Preparations are going on loudly to set a new world record in Ramnagari Ayodhya. A beautiful scene will be presented by the tourism department by decorating a unique range of lamps on the banks of the Saryu River, Ram’s Paidi and other ghats. This time the Deepotsav of Ayodhya is ready to break its previous record.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jayveer Singh said that preparations for the event are going on with full enthusiasm. The Deepotsav is being celebrated grand festival in Ayodhya since 2017. Keeping this tradition, this year, the biggest lamp and grand Aarti ceremony will be organized on the Saryu coast. This time a target has been set to set a Guinness World Record with more than 26 lakh lamps.

Ayodhya’s global identity will be strengthened

The minister said that Deepotsav not only highlights the cultural pride of Ayodhya, but will also give it more fame globally. He informed that this will be the second Deepotsav after the life prestige of the Ram temple, which all necessary steps are being taken to celebrate with more grandeur. A new world record will be set up by lighting more than 26 lakh lamps at Ram’s Paidi and other ghats.

Along with this, the largest Aarti ever will be organized on the Saryu coast, in which more than 1100 saints, Mahatma, Dharmacharya and locals will participate. Preparations will begin three days before the event, and design and coordination will be done according to the Guinness World Record’s standards.

The responsibility will be on their shoulders

Students and volunteers will play an important role for the Guinness World Records on the occasion. They will complete the works like decoration, ignition, count and verification of lamps according to the Guinness standards. Tourism Department, District Administration, Awadh University and other institutions are constantly coordinating for this event.

Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism and Culture, said that Deepotsav is a symbol of our cultural and spiritual heritage. This year, the Deepotsav in Ayodhya will be even more grand compared to the previous years, and all preparations for this are being completed.
