Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and prayed to Lord Shri Ram for their happiness, prosperity and auspicious life. In a greeting message issued here today, the Chief Minister said, “Festivals and festivals give the message of peace, unity and harmony and promote social harmony.”

He said, “The festival of Diwali is a very important festival of India’s Sanatan Dharma tradition. To commemorate the arrival of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya after 14 years of exile and the beginning of Ramrajya, thousands of years ago, devotees across Bharatkhand started celebrating this festival by decorating their homes with lamp garlands.

The Chief Minister said, “It is the good fortune of all of us that Ayodhya, the holy birthplace of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram, is in Uttar Pradesh.” Yogi Adityanath said, “The state government is re-establishing the ancient and glorious tradition of celebrating Diwali in Ayodhya through the organization of ‘Deepotsav’ and is working to make the entire world community aware of the glory of Ayodhya.

Chief of the state’s main opposition party Samajwadi Party (SP) and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav congratulated the countrymen on Diwali, Govardhan Puja, and Bhaidooj. In a statement issued from the SP headquarters, Yadav said, “Everyone should celebrate the festival of Prakash Parv Diwali together. Respect each other.”

National President of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati wrote on ‘X’, “Happy Diwali – Hearty congratulations and best wishes to the people of Uttar Pradesh and all the countrymen on the occasion of Deepotsav.”

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya wrote on ‘X’, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the people of the country and the state on the great festival of Diwali, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, truth over untruth and hope over despair!”

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak wrote, “I pray to God that this holy festival of Diwali brings happiness, prosperity, splendor and light of happiness in the lives of all of you.”

Bharatiya Janata Party State President Bhupendra Singh Choudhary said, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the people of the state on Diwali, the holy festival of eternal victory of light over darkness.
