Huge crowd of devotees in Varanasi: 20 lakh paid obeisance, Sparsh Darshan closed till January 3

Varanasi: The religious and spiritual city of Kashi is becoming the first choice of devotees and tourists even before the New Year. On Wednesday, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, Vishwabhushan Mishra said that in just seven days, more than twenty lakh devotees and tourists have paid obeisance in the court of Baba Vishwanath. In view of the crowd, all special requests related to protocol and darshan have been cancelled. The system of Sparsh Darshan has been closed till January 3 and only the system of Tableau Darshan is in force. For the convenience of the devotees, arrangements have also been made for lost and found center and medical camp.

Devotees are being given entry through five gates and a separate gate has been kept for exit. It is expected that the number of devotees may reach around five lakh on New Year. Those who could not come to Kumbh, their chances of coming to Magh Mela have increased. In view of the reverse flow, all necessary arrangements have been made. A review meeting will be held again on January 3 and after this a decision regarding further arrangements will be taken.
