In Hinduism and Vedic astrology, Devguru Brihaspati is worshiped as the guru of the gods, the supreme symbol of knowledge, wisdom and spiritual guidance. He is considered to be the most auspicious planet among the nine planets, which are responsible for luck, wealth and expansion (progress). The effects of Jupiter are wide-ranging. Jupiter is the lord of higher education, philosophy and religious knowledge.
He is the lord of teachers, advisors and guides. These are the main factors of children, especially the first child and husband in the horoscope of the woman, as seen in the classical Parashari system. He is the lord of long term wealth and prosperity. The liver is also responsible for fat metabolism, the immune system and the body’s ability to grow and expand at the cellular level.
The quality of Jupiter is not just knowledge, but also intelligence: the ability to discern truth, goodness, and justice and act on the basis of that discretion rather than impulse, lust, or fear. Wherever Jupiter is placed in the horoscope, it strives to take its field towards its highest expression. Jupiter in the 7th house not only indicates a life partner, but it also indicates the possibility of an intelligent, morally sound partnership. Jupiter in the 10th house does not just indicate career, but it also indicates a career oriented towards social welfare, knowledge or justice. Similarly, their results are discussed in twelve houses.
According to mythological texts, Devguru Brihaspati was born as the son of Maharishi Angira and his wife Smriti (or Surupa). They are considered to be the descendants of Maharishi Angira, the mental son of Supreme Father Brahma and a symbol of the supreme knowledge of the gods.
Major story related to origin and birth
Result of penance:
When Maharishi Angira did not have any child for a long time, he and his wife together performed rigorous penance to Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma was pleased and blessed him to observe ‘Pumsavan’ fast, as a result of which he got three brilliant sons – Samvarta, Utthya and Jeeva (who was later called Devguru Brihaspati).
How to become Devguru:
‘Jeeva’, who was intelligent and calm since childhood, performed severe penance for Lord Shiva after completing his education. Pleased with his ordeal and devotion, Lord Shiva bestowed upon him knowledge, wisdom and the position of supreme guru (Devguru) of the gods.
According to the theory of normal transit astrology, Jupiter stays in one zodiac sign for about 12 months i.e. about one year, but due to its transitory motion, it stays in Cancer zodiac sign.
After the entry of Jupiter on 2nd June, on 31st October 2026, according to the ancient texts of Medinese astrology, Jupiter’s quick change of zodiac sign, becoming retrograde, direct, gives information about special changes in the animate and inanimate. Currently Devguru Jupiter is in Gemini, on June 2, 2026 Devguru Jupiter will enter its exalted Cancer. It is noteworthy that Jupiter was in its exalted Cancer sign for some time in the year 2025, then in the beginning of December 2025, it returned from Cancer sign and entered Gemini sign. In the beginning of June 2026, it will again enter Cancer from Gemini.
The transit of Jupiter in three zodiac signs – Gemini, Cancer and Leo in 2026 will change the fate of many people. There will be a widespread impact on 12 zodiac signs. When Lord Jupiter transits in the fourth, eighth and twelfth house from someone’s birth sign, then that time is troublesome for the person.
In Vedic astrology, trespass movement means moving very fast and Jupiter is going to move trespass for the next 8 years i.e. till the year 2032. Usually, Jupiter takes 12 to 13 months to move from one zodiac sign to another, but this time Jupiter is going to change the zodiac sign thrice in a year. In astrology, Jupiter is considered the factor of knowledge, religion and economy. When Jupiter becomes trespasser (moving faster than normal), it loses its auspiciousness and rapidly brings about major, unexpected and turbulent changes in the country and the world, which impacts the global economy, weather and governance.
Impact on the country and the world
Fluctuations in the economy: Due to the influence of trespassing Jupiter, there may be sudden changes in global markets and financial policies. The public and the business world may have to struggle with the pressure of inflation and recession.
Natural and climate change: Extreme motion causes uncertainty in weather cycles. You may have to face untimely rains, huge fluctuations in temperature or natural disasters.
Political and diplomatic turmoil: Pressure on autocracies (kings and politicians) increases globally. The balance of power changes at the international level and a situation of internal strife or public rebellion may arise in many countries.
Religious and social differences: There may be violence in religious matters due to a trespassing Guru. Disputes and ideological conflicts may increase across the world regarding religion or ideology.
Health and Medicine: There may be an outbreak of some strange diseases in the medical field, although solutions and new medicines will be invented rapidly.
Catastrophic Climate:
Since Jupiter is the factor of life and coolness, its disturbed movement will bring massive climate change. Their position in Cancer (water element) can cause devastating floods, sea storms and water crisis.
New doors of knowledge: Every destruction also brings with it creation. Just as ‘Gita’ was born in the midst of Mahabharata, similarly in these difficult times there will be spiritual awakening and revolutionary discoveries in the field of science.
Repetition of Mahabharata period
If we turn the pages of history, we come to know that even during the Mahabharata war about 5000 years ago, the Guru remained a trespasser for 7 years. The same situation was also seen during the First and Second World Wars. Recently, between 2018 and 2022, when Guru Atchirati occurred, the whole world faced global catastrophe like ‘Corona’ and economic recession. Now the same situation is knocking again.
