Ayodhya, Amrit Vichar: As soon as the month of Kartik starts in the holy city of Ayodhya, a large number of devotees spend Kalpavas here. After one month of Kalpvas, this Kalpvas ends with circumambulation of Ramlala’s birth place and bathing in Saryu river on the occasion of Kartik Purnima. Astrologer Karuna Nidhan told that according to English calendar, the date of Kartik Purnima will start from 10:36 pm on November 4 and will remain till 6:48 pm on November 5.
Therefore, based on Udaya Tithi, Kartik Purnima will be celebrated on 5th November. The most auspicious time to bathe in Saryu river and donate is from 4:52 to 5:44. Said that the auspicious time for worship in the evening during Pradosh period will be from 5:15 to 7:05. Donation of lamps is also done at this time.
Mahant Satyendra Das Vedanti said that in Hindu religion, bathing in Saryu river, lamp donation, donation, worship of God, Aarti, Havan etc. have great importance on Kartik Purnima. On this day, any religious work gets hundredfold results. Said that full moon means completion of all types of fasting and penance. That is why devotees stay in Ayodhya throughout Kartik and do Kalpavas. Taking a full moon bath marks the end of all types of fasts.
