Legend of Navratri Saptami

In ancient times, Asuras named Shumbha-Nishumbha and Raktabij had created terror in the three worlds. The gods, stricken by his atrocities, prayed for help from Lord Shiva. On the instructions of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati took the form of Mother Durga and killed Shumbha-Nishumbha. But when it came to slaying the bloodbase, a new blood seed started arising from every blood drop. This Asura was such a boon, according to which another demon was produced as soon as his blood fell on the earth.

To overcome this crisis, Maa Durga produced Maa Kalratri from her fast. In the war, he took the blood of bloodbies in his mouth before falling on the earth and thus destroyed the demon. This wonderful form of Maa Kalratri made all the gods free. The worship of Maa Kalratri not only gives the seeker to protect fear, negativity and evil forces, but also paves the way for spiritual progress.
