Prayagraj: The fire department has started extensive preparations regarding fire safety arrangements during the Magh Mela to be held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. This time a total of 20 fire stations, 7 outposts as well as 20 watch towers will be established in the fair area. A total of 650 firefighters will be deployed. In which three FSOs and 40 soldiers have already reached the fair area from different districts.
Chief Fire Officer Animesh Singh said that the response time for relief work in case of fire at the fair will be two to three minutes, which is much better than last year’s four to five minutes. To achieve this improvement, 20 large fire tenders (4500 litres), 30 medium tenders (2500 litres), 20 mini fire tenders and 40 fighter bikes will be deployed in the area. Mini fire tenders will be deployed especially in Arail and Jhusi areas. Along with this, there will be a complete ban on illegal cylinders in the fair area so that any possible arson incident can be avoided.
Presently the Kotwali and Mahavir Fire Stations are fully prepared and the entire arrangement will ensure that fire tenders reach all the key locations quickly. These elaborate security arrangements have been made keeping in mind the safety of all the devotees so that the Magh Mela can be conducted with peace and security.
