Puja Vastu Rules: Follow these Vastu rules while doing puja at home, you will get special blessings of Gods and Goddesses.

In Hinduism, there has always been a tradition of worshiping Gods and Goddesses. However, most of the people are not able to follow the rules and principles of Vaastu Shastra while performing puja. Small mistakes made during puja can increase Vaastu defects instead of eliminating them. Learn about these rules from Vastu expert Anish Vyas.

According to Vastu expert Anish Vyas, fix a specific time for puja at home. There are five auspicious times throughout the day when you can worship God. The first puja should be done in Brahma Muhurta (early morning). If you cannot get up that early, then do the puja by 9 or 10 in the morning. After that, perform evening puja before sleeping at night. The point is to fix a fixed time for the puja.

It is said in the scriptures that Lord Ganesha should be worshiped first. However, experts say that the five main deities are Surya (Sun God), Ganesha, Durga, Shiva and Vishnu. Whenever you start worshiping, first remember these five deities. Doing this brings happiness and prosperity in the house.

In Hinduism, the Tulsi plant is considered sacred and revered. Therefore, always use basil leaves in the offerings made to the gods. However, avoid offering Tulsi leaves to Lord Shiva, Ganesha and Bhairav. Also, avoid plucking basil leaves on Sunday, Ekadashi, Dwadashi, Sankranti or in the evening. Doing this angers Goddess Lakshmi, which can lead to financial problems.

While worshiping, your face should be towards east or north. Light an oil or ghee lamp during the puja, but take care not to light one lamp from another. Doing this can cause health problems.

The idols of any deity in the home temple should be 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, or 11 inches tall. Also, do not keep standing idols of Ganesha, Saraswati or Lakshmi in the house. Immediately remove any broken idol from the home temple. It is considered right to donate such idols to a temple or immerse them in a holy river. Apart from this, it is considered appropriate to use Ganga water during puja at home.
