Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust has installed a squirrel statue in the Ram Janmabhoomi campus in Ayodhya. The temple construction is moving towards its final stage, and this step has been taken on the occasion to honor the symbolic contribution of the squirrel in the Ramayana. The idol has been installed in such a way that it seems to look towards the temple.
Nripendra Mishra, head of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, said on Tuesday that the statue has been installed on Angad Tila, from where it seems to be staring at the grandeur of the temple.
Importance of squirrel statue
Mishra said, “The construction work of the Ram temple is being completed rapidly. During this time the trust decided to honor the squirrel, which played its small but important role in the construction of Ram Setu in Ramayana.”
Mishra, who arrived for the construction committee meeting in Ayodhya, said that the construction work of the temple is in the final stages and the quality check will start soon. Along with this, work has started on strengthening security arrangements.
Extensive plan for temple protection
25 monitoring towers will be built with a four -kilometer long wall to protect the temple complex. Mishra said that there will be a detailed discussion on security measures with the district administration soon, so that the security of the temple can be made extremely strong.
He also emphasized that other scenic spots in Ayodhya should be planned for the devotees coming from India and abroad. He says that Ayodhya should be developed as a major religious and tourist destination.
In the Ramayana, the squirrel is remembered for his devotion to Lord Rama and small but dedicated contribution in the construction of Ram Setu. The installation of this idol on Ram Janmabhoomi is seen as a symbol of collective efforts, devotion and humility.
