Goswami ji has written – Vipra Dhenu Sur Sant Hit Linh Manuj Avtaar. It is mentioned that Dasharatha, the Chakravarti king of Ayodhya, belonging to the Ikshvaku dynasty, performed Putreshthi Yagya in his fourth year to get a son, as a result of which he got Shri Ramchandra as his son in the form of the seventh incarnation of Shri Hari. With a motherly affection, Queen Kaushalya, seeing the Vishayakay form of Shri Hari, requested that you take birth from my womb and perform the childhood rituals. The fullness of my love and affection will be found only in your childlike form. In this context, for all the women including Kaushalya, this occasion is the most important and meaningful in her life, when she becomes a mother. Thereafter, Shri Hari is born like a newborn baby in the lap of Kaushalya in the auspicious time of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, Tithi Navami, Punarvasu Nakshatra and Cancer ascendant. This day also marks the end of Shakti worship on the holy day (Navmi) of Chaitra Navratri.
The context of exile in the story of Ram should basically be taken as a symbolic conclusion of the worldly creatures finding balance in the midst of many ups and downs, upheavals and storms, which Lord Ram lives with full joy and Shri Ram, who roamed from forest to forest in the guise of tapasya for a long period of 14 years, is in itself a symbol of the reality that everyone will have to spend their share of exile on their own. The lesson of not blaming anyone for your circumstances and confronting them with courage to turn the circumstances in your favor should be learned from them. On the thorny path, the common and the special are all equal. Everyone should be prepared to depend on the pace of their karma and destiny, no matter who it is.
The most important and acceptable aspect of Ramji’s life is that how can you become an inspiration for the destitute, needy and millions of people living on the margins. How can we bring them into the mainstream and provide them the light of a respectable life? Shri Ram lived his fourteen years of exile in the jungle with this determination. Be it making Kevatraj very dear to you with your affection, or going to the hut of Shabari, a devoted lover of Hari Darshan since birth, and eating her false hatred, or befriending the monkey caste, who spend their lives jumping from one branch to another, and giving them full credit for the search and attainment of Bharya Sita. This omnipresence of Shri Ram with different qualities, religion, caste and culture is amazing and unique.
Despite not being a king, he gathered everyone on one platform against injustice. Lankadhipati could have been defeated with the military help of Ayodhya or other kings, but Ram ji did not do so. The reason is clear, he gave the right direction to the scattered manpower. Crushing Mahabali’s pride to dust is the result of the same thinking of Gunanidhan. Ram is chariotless, supported by an army of monkeys, dressed in tapasya, deprived of military equipment, but is full of the courage and determination needed to fight for women’s dignity. While teaching the entire Ramkatha, it seems that he kept discussing the options to avoid the war till the last moment.
Today the whole world is standing on the brink of war, many countries of the Gulf are burning in the fire of arrogance and supremacy of a few madmen. In such a situation, arrogant and greedy countries should take a lesson from Ram’s character, Ram’s conduct and his greatness that the strength they have accumulated is not in intimidating others; Make good use of mutual cooperation and harmony. Our adorable Lord Shri Ram is far away from the luxurious life of kings and emperors and has only one wife.
In order to free his wife from safe captivity, he fulfilled the saying of Ravana’s one lakh sons and 1.25 lakh grandsons, Ta Ravana Ghar Diya Na Baati. It was for the fulfillment of this establishment of truth that he was incarnated. That is why he became beloved and ideal of the people. Janaki’s necklace and people’s guardian were such that when the people raised questions, they were ready to abandon the same Pranaballabha Janaki without any delay. This is not in the control of any other king or emperor, Lord Ram, who treats his people like his life, did not hesitate to exile even his beloved mother Sita. In fact, in today’s time, the one who ignores the cries of his people should take Shri Ram to his heart. -Santosh Kumar Tiwari, Nainital
