According to another legend, Lord Hanuman was blessed with immortality on Tuesday itself. It is said in the mythological texts that the day when Lord Hanuman was blessed with *Chiranjeevi* (immortal life), it was a Tuesday of *Jyeshtha* month. For this reason, this Tuesday is also given special importance.

**The Third Legend of Big Mars**
Another legend associated with *Bada Mangal* tells the story of the Begum (wife) of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Awadh, who was a staunch devotee of Lord Hanuman. It is said that once Lord Hanuman appeared to him in a dream. After this, he built a grand temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman in Aliganj, Lucknow. A few years after the temple was built, a severe epidemic broke out in the city. To seek protection from this epidemic, the Begum of Awadh went to the temple and offered prayers there. The day on which he offered these prayers was *Bada Mangal* (Tuesday) of the month of *Jyeshtha*. That day, for the first time, Begum organized a *Bhandara* (community meal) in the temple on the occasion of *Bada Mangal*. Since then, grand celebrations and community meals are organized on every *Bada Mangal* in Lucknow.
