Lucknow, Amrit Vichar. On the Shia helpline issued by the office of Ayatollah Al Uzma Syed Sadiq Hussaini Shirazi, fasting people asked religious and Sharia questions on 5 Ramzan. To which Maulana Saif Abbas Naqvi replied.
A fasting person on the Shia helpline asked what is the ruling if an asthma patient uses an inhaler while fasting? In response to this question, it was told that if the medicine coming out of the inhaler does not enter the food pipe then the fast is valid.
A question came on the helpline that if a person travels 30 kilometers from his home to work, then what has Shariat said about his fasting? In response to this question it was said that he can keep fast. A fasting person asked, what is the ruling if a person intends to fast and deliberately breaks the fast during any part of the day? In response to this question, it was told that breaking the fast intentionally is Haraam and one will have to pay one of the three Kaffaras. A question came up that if someone is sick and he recovers before Johar, will it be right to keep the fast? The reply said that if the person has not done anything that breaks the fast, then if he fasts with the intention, his fast will be valid.
