Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has made preparations to count every devotee and tourist visiting Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Ram Temple in Ayodhya and Gorakhnath Temple with the state-of-the-art AI (Artificial Intelligence) camera based ‘Footfall Counting System’. The department claims that this system will record accurate data in real-time. The department has invited ‘Expression of Interest’ (EOI) from interested agencies to implement the project.
These three temples will have AI cameras
State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said on Wednesday that the state-of-the-art technology system will not only enable accurate estimation of the number of tourists, but will also make travel management, security arrangements, cleanliness, development of infrastructure and tourism policy making more effective. He said that through this project, an effort is being made to install AI cameras in Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple (Varanasi), Gorakhnath Temple (Gorakhpur) and Ram Temple (Ayodhya).
Footfall Counting System, Data Analysis and Maintenance
The selected agency will be given the responsibility of installation, data analysis and maintenance of footfall counting system at these sites. Under the project, the selected agency will carry out the design, development, installation and maintenance of the entire system. This state-of-the-art initiative will incorporate advanced technologies like AI based face recognition system, footfall counting, behavioral analytics and emergency response system.
This smart technology will ensure effective management, security monitoring and quick alert and action in case of emergency by accurately analyzing the number of tourists visiting each site, crowd density and flow. Jaiveer Singh said that ‘This step of the Tourism Department will bring an important change in the direction of smart tourism and digital governance in Uttar Pradesh.
This system will make tourist places transparent and data-based
Through this, the state government will get accurate records of tourist flow. Also, crowd management and expansion of facilities can be done in a more scientific manner. He said, this system based on AI technology will make the data of domestic and foreign tourists visiting the tourist destinations of the state more transparent and data-based.
