Purnma will remain till 9:16 am on bathing and donating. Jyotishacharyas said that bathing and donation done on Sharad Purnima is considered extremely fruitful.
Regarding the festival, Jyotishacharya Pt Manoj Kumar Dwivedi said that Sharad Purnima has special significance in Hinduism. It is believed that by fasting on Sharad Purnima, a person gets the grace of Goddess Lakshmi as well as Lord Vishnu. On this day Mata Lakshmi travels on earth. This time the full moon date is going to be two days.
Actually, this has happened due to the decrease and increase in the date. However, the fast of full moon and rays of moon will be done on Monday, October 6 and bath donation on Tuesday, October 7. On the 6th October Monday, the full moon date will start at 12.24 pm and will start on Tuesday, October 7, for 9:16 am.
There is a tradition of keeping kheer in the rays of the moon on the night of Sharad Purnima. According to religious beliefs, in the kheer of Sharad Purnima, droplets of nectar fall from the rays of the moon. This makes that kheer of medicinal properties.
