Varanasi. Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Chandra Ramgulam, along with his wife, performed reverence and worship at the Kashi Vishwanath temple on the third day of the Varanasi visit. The district administration said in an official statement that Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and the state’s finance and parliamentary work Minister Suresh Khanna were present with him during this period. Ramgulam is on a tour of India from 9 to 16 September and reached Varanasi on Wednesday, where he was given a grand welcome by the Governor and the Finance Minister.
On Thursday evening, Ramgulam along with his wife and delegation participated in the Ganga Aarti at the famous Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi. He also enjoyed a visit to the gleaming Ardhachandara Ghats built on the banks of the Ganges river. Sushant Mishra, president of Ganga Seva Nidhi, said that Aarti was organized on the roof of the institution due to the rise in the water level of the Ganges, which was decorated with flowers and made a daily Ganga Aarti.
Vikas Malaviya, director of the Alaknanda Cruise Line, welcomed the Prime Minister of Mauritius on the cruise by presenting his Angavastra and Shri Ram’s Charan Paduka. According to the statement, when Ramgulam and his delegation reached Ravidas Ghat by road, they were welcomed with Badhawa and Faruwahi folklore. On the cruise, experts informed the guests about the historic ghats of Kashi and the religious and historical buildings on the banks of the Ganges. During this time special arrangements were also made for Banarasi dishes, which included delicious dishes like chaat, kulfi, cold, lassi and paan.
