Do you know that the quality of your sleep depends not only on the mattress but also on the direction in which you sleep? Often, we go to bed to rest, but wake up feeling heaviness or a headache. Vastu Shastra says that while sleeping our body comes in contact with the earth’s magnetic energy, and wrong direction can disturb it. Let us know which direction will give you energy and which can take away your peace.
north direction
Both Vaastu and science believe that sleeping with your head towards north is dangerous for your health. Earth’s magnetic poles are north-south. When we sleep with our head facing north, our body’s magnetic flux collides with the Earth’s magnetic flux. This conflict puts pressure on the brain, causing mental stress, irritability and sleeplessness.
South and East: Boon for health
South direction (best): The first choice of Vastu experts is south direction. Sleeping with the head in this direction maintains the magnetic balance of the body, which is important for comfortable and deep sleep. When you wake up in the morning, you feel fresh and energetic.
East direction (best for students): It is very auspicious to sleep with head in this direction when the sun rises. This helps in increasing concentration and positive energy. This direction is considered very beneficial for those who do a lot of mental work or study.
West: Why be careful?
In Vastu Shastra, the west direction is considered neutral or average for sleeping. Some people feel unstable and restless while sleeping in this direction. If you have other options, it is best to avoid this, prefer the south or east direction.
Sleeping on the left side: Ayurveda’s golden rule
Not only the direction, but also the side has a deep impact on health. According to Ayurveda, ‘Vamkukshi’ (sleeping on the left side) is best for the digestive system. Sleeping in this position prevents stomach acid from increasing, which prevents heartburn. Apart from this, it helps in maintaining good blood circulation by reducing excess pressure on the heart.
