Victory and defeat depend on the mental conditions of man.

A very deep and meaningful line has been said in Indian culture – ‘Man ke haare haar hai, man ke jeete jeet’. This means that the real determinant of victory and defeat in life is not external circumstances, but the state of mind. Circumstances are only a medium, the human mind plays the role of the real decider. If the mind is filled with fear, doubt and despair and gives up beforehand, then despite having the means, resources and opportunity, defeat becomes certain. On the contrary, if the mind is strong, courageous, positive and full of faith, then victory becomes possible even in adverse circumstances.-Sunil Kumar Mahala

In fact, every victory and defeat in life first happens in the mind and then appears in real life. A person who loses in his mind can never win, but the one who has decided in his mind that he will win and will win at any cost, he ultimately becomes victorious. Our defeat or victory does not depend on physical strength, but on mental strength. When we accept from our mind that we cannot win, at that very moment half of our strength is lost. And unwavering faith shows us the way even in the most difficult situations.

Fear is man’s biggest enemy. Worries are born out of fear and these worries often arise from unnecessary imaginations. When a person starts imagining things that have not happened yet, fear arises within him. This fear stops him from thinking positively, moving forward and living fully. Man is especially afraid of things which he cannot see. The crisis which has not yet come, i.e. the worry about the future, is like a ‘ghost’ in the mind.

It does not have any definite shape, so it appears more scary. This unseen fear keeps scaring the person from within and ultimately he gives up without fighting. On the contrary, a person who rises above these fears and resolves, works hard and struggles, overcomes even the biggest difficulties. History is full of many examples of this. For example, Arunima Sinha, despite losing her leg in an accident, did not give up and conquered the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. Abraham Lincoln was not deterred even after losing many elections in his life and eventually became the President of America.

These examples prove that it is not circumstances but a man’s mind that decides his destiny. In fact, the human mind knows how to deal with crises, but the mind is also fickle. Negative energy quickly attracts a person and he becomes worried about things that have no real basis. He loses his present by worrying about the future and memories of the past, whereas the truth is that only the present is under the control of man.

It has been said that empires are broken not by swords, but by doubts. When doubt enters the mind, even the most powerful person becomes weak. Before winning any external war, it is necessary to win it in the mind. Therefore there should be no room for doubt, fear and negativity in the mind. Man should understand that it is useless to worry about what will or will not happen in the future.

A person compromises with real problems, but the worry about possible problems breaks him from within. Fear first defeats the mind and when the mind is defeated, even external victory becomes impossible. History is witness to the fact that major downfalls have happened not because of external enemies, but because of internal fear. Great is the one who moves forward despite fear, the person who only pays attention to the reality in front and does his work, only he is able to give the right direction to his future. Therefore, it is necessary that instead of being afraid of unseen threats, we understand them and face them wisely. When a person is freed from the fear of his mind, then only he is truly free and this is the true victory.
