In Sanatan Dharma, Trisandhya (Trikal Sandhya) is considered a very sacred and important spiritual practice. ‘Trisandhya’ means remembering God, meditating, praying and chanting mantras during the three periods of the day – morning, noon and evening. In the Vedic tradition, it is believed that worship and meditation done at these three times helps in balancing the mind, body and soul.

It is believed that by doing Trisandhya regularly, a person develops positive thinking, self-confidence and mental peace.

What is Trisandhya?

‘Sandhya’ means the meeting of two times. When there is a change of day and night or different phases of the day, it is called Sandhikal. The prayers, meditation and mantra chanting done during this period is called Trisandhya.

There are three main times of Trisandhya –

Early evening: Before sunrise or at sunrise. Meridian Evening: At noon time. Evening: At the time of sunset.

Easy way to do Trisandhya

Wear clean clothes after taking bath or washing hands and feet. Sit in a quiet and clean place facing east or north. Remember God and calm your mind. Chant Gayatri Mantra or other Vedic mantras as per your tradition and faith. Meditate for some time and finally pray for the welfare of all living beings.

It is believed that during Sandhi period the environment is relatively calm, due to which meditation and prayer can be more comfortable. This is the reason why sages and sages gave special importance to chanting, meditation and worship during these times.

What things should be kept in mind?

Try to do Trisandhya at regular time. Chant the mantra with devotion and concentration. Keep your mind calm during practice and avoid unnecessary thoughts. If the complete method is not possible, then remembering and meditating on God for a few minutes can also be done.
