The Honda City facelift will get cosmetic changes and add some new features, while the ZR-V will be brought to India as a CBU.
Honda Cars India is preparing to introduce two new models on May 22, 2026, which include the facelifted Honda City and the new Honda ZR-V. Honda City has been facing tough competition from feature-rich rivals like Hyundai Verna, Virtus and Skoda Slavia in the midsize sedan segment for quite some time now. To overcome this shortcoming, some changes will be made in the 2026 facelift.
This will be the second update of the fifth generation City and it may see mild changes in the exterior design like new headlamps, taillamps, bumpers and alloy wheels. More major updates are expected in the interior. Features like large touchscreen system, full digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat and 360-degree camera can be added to it.
However, there will be no change in the engine. It will have the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine (121 hp) and 1.5-litre hybrid engine (126 hp) as before, which will come with manual and CVT gearboxes. Along with this, Honda ZR-V SUV will also be introduced, which will be brought to India as a complete import (CBU).
Current Honda City
This will be the company’s flagship SUV and will compete with Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq. Talking about size, the length of ZR-V is 4,568 mm, width is 1,840 mm and height is 1,620 mm, while its wheelbase is 2,657 mm. It is a Civic-based SUV positioned between the global HR-V and CR-V and its design is different from the Elevate and has a more crossover style.
It will have a 2.0-litre four-cylinder hybrid engine, which produces around 180 hp and comes with e-CVT gearbox. Talking about the features, it will get advanced features like large touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, connected technology, multi-function steering wheel, powered seats, powered tailgate, wireless charging and ADAS.
Overall, while the Honda City facelift will try to strengthen its hold through features, the ZR-V SUV will come as a new entry in the premium segment of the company.
