2026 Maruti Brezza will get an underbody CNG tank setup like the Victoris in the coming months, which will increase the bootspace
Maruti Suzuki adopted the underbody CNG tank system instead of adopting the twin-cylinder technology which was first introduced with the Victoris. This proved to be a big change for the brand and now the same system is going to be offered in Brezza as well. The Brezza is expected to get an update in 2026 and has been spotted testing several times.
Recently, in a video of True Car Advice, this updated Brezza is seen completely without any cover. This unit clearly shows that Maruti has installed the new underbody S-CNG system in Brezza like Victoris. Currently, the S-CNG setup of the Brezza is considered less advanced than its direct rivals like Tata and Hyundai, as they offer twin-cylinder technology.
Now with the 2026 Brezza, Maruti will introduce underbody CNG technology, which will provide better boot space and more useful cargo solutions compared to the current model. Maruti Suzuki Brezza Petrol has a boot space of 328 liters, while the official figure of Brezza CNG has not been released by the company, but it is considered quite less.

The boot space is expected to improve significantly with the addition of a new underbody CNG tank. The current Brezza CNG has a 55 liter (water equivalent) capacity tank and gives a mileage of 25.51 km/kg. It has a K15C 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
This engine gives 99 HP power and 137.1 Nm torque in petrol mode, while 87 HP power and 121.5 Nm torque in CNG mode. There is no possibility of any major changes in the engine with the facelift. However, some new features may be added to the updated Brezza, which may include ventilated seats, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and level-2 ADAS.

Maruti Brezza is one of the best selling CNG cars in India. This SUV was ranked fifth in the CNG car sales chart in FY 2025, with sales of 70,928 units. With the introduction of underbody CNG tank, its popularity is expected to increase further and it can further cement its strong hold in the compact CNG SUV segment.
