The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno will see changes in both the exterior and interior, while a new 1.2 liter Z-series petrol engine may also be included in it.

The updated model of Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been spotted testing in India, due to which it is likely to be launched in the second half of 2026 (H2 2026). It is one of the best-selling cars in the premium hatchback segment and there has been no change in it since 2022, hence its facelift is considered very important for the company.

The pictures show that mild changes have been made to the rear section of the 2026 Baleno, while more changes will be seen in the front. It can be provided with newly designed alloy wheels, re-designed headlights, updated grille, new front bumper with wide air intake and turn indicators on ORVM. A bonnet with clamshell design can also be seen. The front look will be more sporty and aggressive than before, in which new LED DRLs can also be found.

Major changes are also expected in the interior. It can get a large touchscreen infotainment system, which will support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from this, new material and finish, advanced connectivity features and new digital instrument cluster can also be provided. Features like 360-degree camera, wireless charger and leather seats can also be added to the features list.

Talking about the engine, the current model has a 1.2 liter K-series DualJet petrol engine, which gives power of 89 HP and torque of 113 Nm. But in the new model, it can be changed to the new Z-series 3-cylinder engine, which is found in Maruti Suzuki Swift and Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

Apart from this, 1.0 liter BoosterJet turbo petrol engine can also be found in the top variants, which is given in Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Another possibility is that the CNG tank can be installed under the floor, as seen in Victoris. Additionally, a new 6-speed manual gearbox may also be available, although this is not confirmed yet.

Maruti Suzuki has strengthened its hold in the SUV segment in recent times with the launch of Fronx, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Victoris and its first electric SUV Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. The company is planning to further strengthen its portfolio in the coming 2-3 years.
