Tata Motors is finally ready to launch the new Punch in the Indian market after extensive testing. This will be the mid-life facelift version of the micro-SUV. It is scheduled to be launched on January 13 and the company has also released its first teaser, which gives a glimpse of its new exterior design. Let us tell you that Punch is currently Tata’s best selling car and it was launched for the first time in India in the year 2021.

According to the teaser video, the new Tata Punch looks more powerful and SUV-like than before, with an upright and strong stance. The highlights of its updated exterior are new LED headlamps and fog lamps, sleek DRLs, new front grille and new front bumper, which give it a more muscular look.

At the rear, a connected tail lamp setup will be seen in the new Punch. Apart from this, new dual-tone alloy wheels are also seen in the teaser. Overall, Tata wants to give the Punch a more powerful and SUV-style look through this facelift, although the full picture will be clear only at the time of launch.

With the facelift model, Punch will be updated in line with Tata’s new design language and latest features. It is also worth noting that the new ICE Punch will not be much different from the Punch EV in terms of style and features. However, the company has not yet given any information about the interior of the new Punch.

It is expected to get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, new steering wheel, changed dashboard layout and new upholstery. Apart from this, some features like 360-degree parking camera and ADAS will also be a part of this package, information about which may be revealed in the coming days.

Talking about the engine, the new Tata Punch is likely to get the existing 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will be available in both petrol and CNG options. This engine delivers 87 bhp power and 115 Nm torque, which is paired with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. Whereas in CNG variant, this engine produces power of 72 bhp and torque of 103 Nm.
