2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift seen during testing, may get new battery pack

New Tata Tiago EV

The 2026 Tata Tiago EV may get a larger battery pack for more range along with minor cosmetic updates.

Tata Motors is preparing a major updated version of Tiago EV and it may see more changes than expected. The car seen during testing was covered but from the parts that are visible, it is clear that there will be a major change in the design and the cabin will be made more premium than before.

The front end sees new LED lights and sleek LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The front design also seems to be changed, with a new upper panel and a more prominent bumper. In the side profile, the door mirrors appear larger than before, due to which it is being speculated that a surround-view camera system can be added to it.

The alloy wheels are completely covered, which makes it seem that aero-style wheels can be given in it. A raised feature is visible on the roof, hinting towards a factory-fitted electric sunroof. Changes are also possible at the rear, where a redesigned taillights and a revised bumper can be found.

The interior is expected to get better quality materials and finishes. It can be provided with wireless smartphone charging, more connected features, larger infotainment screen and full digital instrument cluster. The design of the steering wheel may also be like Tata’s new models.

There is no clear information yet on mechanical changes. The current Tiago EV comes with 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery packs, giving a real-world range of 168 km and 205 km respectively. It is expected that the 30 kWh battery pack found in the recently updated Tata Punch EV can also be included in it, which gives a real-world range of more than 265 km in the micro SUV.

The entry of the Punch EV has added some competition to the company’s entry-level EV lineup, so the new Tiago EV could help it garner more sales with better range and more features. It is expected that it will be launched in the market by the end of this year. At the same time, for 2026, the company has also kept Tata Sierra EV and Tata Avinya in the lineup.
