Ampere Reo VYB launched in India with a range of 80 km, priced at Rs 69,499

Ampere Reo VYB is an entry-level family electric scooter with an LFP battery and a top speed of 25 km/h.

Ampere has launched its new electric scooter Reo VYB in the Indian market. Its starting ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 69,499. The company is presenting it as an entry-level family electric scooter. With this, a warranty of 3 years or 30,000 km is being given as standard. Customers will also benefit from over 400 service touchpoints across the country and 24×7 customer support. In the Indian market, it will compete with models like Hero Vida VX2 and TVS Orbiter V1.

Ampere Reo VYB has been introduced in four colors Warm White, Pastel Purple, Dark Gray and Aqua Metallic. Talking about the features, it has features like 24 liters of under-seat storage, color LCD digital display, keyless start with premium key-fob, front disc brake, LED headlight and LED taillight.

This electric scooter is equipped with Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery pack. The company claims that it offers an actual riding range of 80 km once fully charged. It has a hub-mounted electric motor and its maximum speed is 25 km/h. Ampere says that the life of its LFP battery can be up to 1 lakh km.

Reo VYB has telescopic front suspension and rear shock absorber for comfortable travel on narrow city roads. Apart from this, rider footrest is also available as a standard accessory. The company says that Reo VYB has been designed keeping in mind the needs of daily short journeys and commuting in the city.

Speaking at the launch, Vikas Singh, Managing Director, Greaves Electric Mobility, said, “The demand for sustainable and reliable mobility solutions is continuously increasing in India. With EV adoption increasing in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, Reo VYB will prove to be a viable option for customers.”

Apart from this, about two months ago Ampere also launched Magnus Neo electric scooter. Its price was kept at Rs 86,999 (ex-showroom). It has a 2.3 kWh LFP battery pack, which claims to give an IDC range of 118 km on full charge. The top speed of Magnus Neo is 65 km/h and it takes about 5 hours to charge its battery from 0 to 80 percent.
