Volkswagen is offering a discount of up to Rs 1.26 lakh on models manufactured in 2025, while the prices of the new versions of Taigun and Virtus have been increased.
Volkswagen is offering huge discounts on the Taigun SUV and Virtus sedan at the beginning of the new year in India. However, these benefits are applicable only on 2025 stock, while the prices of the new versions of both the models have also been revised. Depending on the variant, the total discount can reach up to Rs 1.26 lakh.
The highest discount on Taigun mid-size SUV is available on its lower variants. Benefits of up to Rs 1.04 lakh are being offered on the entry-level Comfortline manual variant, making it the most affordable option this month. Talking about the automatic version, a discount of up to Rs 1 lakh is available on Highline Plus Automatic and up to Rs 80,000 on GT Line Automatic.
However, the discount is different on the top-spec Taigun variants equipped with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. Only an exchange bonus of up to Rs 50,000 is being offered on the GT Plus Chrome DSG and GT Plus Sport DSG variants, there is no direct cash discount. A similar discount pattern is seen in the Virtus sedan, but the benefits are more on its base variant.
A benefit of up to Rs 1.26 lakh is being given on Virtus Comfortline manual with 2025 stock. After this, a discount of up to Rs 1 lakh is available on Highline Plus AT and up to Rs 80,000 on GT Line AT. At the same time, an exchange bonus of up to Rs 30,000 is available only on the high-spec Virtus with 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and DSG gearbox.
Along with these discounts, Volkswagen has also revised the prices of both the cars starting in early 2026. The price of all variants of Taigun (except Comfortline manual) has been increased by Rs 4,000. Interestingly, the price of Comfortline MT has now come down to Rs 10.58 lakh, due to which the effect of increased prices of other variants has been balanced to some extent.
Now the price of Taigun ranges between Rs 10.58 lakh to Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about Virtus, its base Comfortline MT variant has become cheaper by Rs 66,000 to Rs 10.50 lakh, while the prices of mid-spec variants have increased significantly. The price of Highline AT and GT Line MT has increased the most by Rs 51,000, while the DSG automatic variants have become costlier by Rs 31,000. The new prices of Virtus range between Rs 10.50 lakh to Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom). It is worth noting that facelift versions of both Taigun and Virtus are in the works and it is expected that the updated Taigun will be launched first in the coming months.
