Citroen Aircross SUV has received 5-stars for safety of elders and 4-star ratings for safety of children in India NCAP crash test

The Citrane Aercross SUV has scored 27.05 out of 32 in adult safety in the crash test conducted by India NCAP and has achieved the highest 5-star security rating. In addition, it has scored 40 out of 49 points in child safety and has got a 4-star rating. The aercross SUV is equipped with more than 40 security facilities in the Indian market, including 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchor, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and 3-point seatbelt as standard on all seats.

Citrane India further stated that the India New Car Assessment Program (India NCAP) conducted a crash test on the 5S variants of Aercross, which gives flexible seating configuration. The French brand has revealed that it will officially launch aercross x in the Indian market in the next few days. This will be the second ‘X’ model in India after Basalt.

Aercross is made of strong steel, using advanced high strength steel (AHSS) and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS). Its aim is to protect passengers from the front and side tremors and to protect the cabin from damage. The SUV also has several features, including LED projector headlamps, automatic ACs with climate control, power-folding orvms and rear AC vents for passengers sitting behind.

Citroen Aercross is available in two petrol engine options in the Indian market. Customers can choose it with a naturally aspirated 1.2 liter 3-cylinder Portech 82 engine, which produces a maximum power of 81 bhp at 5750 rpm and maximum torque of 115 Nm at 3750 rpm and gives a mileage of 17.50 km/liter. This engine is available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

On the other hand, the above variants are powered by a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged puritech 110 engine that is capable of producing a maximum power of 108.6 bhp at 5500 rpm and 190 Nm peak torque at 1750 rpm. It is available with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, whose mileage has been claimed to be 18.50 km/liter and 17.60 km/liter, respectively. The price of aercross SUV starts at Rs 8.32 lakh (ex-showroom) for entry-level U trim, while range-topping turbo AT Max Dual Tone 5+2 for 2 grade to Rs 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
