Electric two-wheeler sales in India have set a new record in March 2026. According to the data till March 27, 2026, a total of 1.39 lakh units have been sold, whereas in the entire month of March 2025, 1.31 lakh units were sold. India’s electric two-wheeler segment has recorded strong year-on-year growth, which is expected to be in double digits.

It is estimated that the total sales for March 2026 may even surpass the previous record of 1.45 lakh units of October 2025. Electric two-wheeler sales in FY2026 (April 2025 – March 2026) are expected to reach 13.5 lakh units, which is much higher than FY25 (11.5 lakh units). The reasons for this increase are the expansion of charging infrastructure, launch of new models and discounts, incentives and subsidies offered by companies.

Recently many companies have launched special or limited editions of their popular scooters during big events like Holi, T20 Cricket World Cup and IPL 2026. Ola Electric has been at the forefront in this matter, which has continuously introduced new offers and models.

However, Ola Electric has also seen a decline in sales. Its sales in FY26 stood at 1.61 lakh units, which is much less than 3.44 lakh units in FY25. In February 2026, the company could not even cross the 4,000 units mark and lagged behind Greaves Electric Mobility (seller of Ampere scooters). For this reason, the company has announced huge discounts and offers on its S1 scooter and Roadster electric motorcycle range.

TVS Motor Company is at the forefront in the electric two-wheeler segment. Its sales have crossed 1 lakh units in the fourth quarter (January–March) of FY26. The company’s total sales are expected to reach around 3.3 lakh units in FY26, significantly higher than 2.38 lakh units in FY25.

Bajaj Auto will remain at the second position with total sales of 2.76 lakh units in FY26 as against 2.31 lakh units in FY25. Ather Energy will be at the third position, with sales of around 2.3 lakh units in FY26, which is much higher than 1.31 lakh units in FY25. At the same time, Hero MotoCorp’s Vida brand has also performed well in FY26. Its sales stood at around 1.39 lakh units, which is much higher than 48,736 units in FY25.
