2022 New Gen Maruti Alto: Maruti Suzuki’s entry level Alto has been the best selling car of the country along with the company. For the first time this car was launched in the year 2000, after which it continued to get new updates. Its design has also changed completely over the years. However, these updates did not affect the price and mileage of the car. Despite the better safety features, it remained among the cheapest cars in the country. In such a situation, once again a new model of this car is ready to come. According to auto industry sources, the trial production of the new generation Alto is expected to start by the end of June. At the same time, it can be launched in July or August.
2022 Alto New-Gen Design
According to the details that have been revealed related to this car, the new Alto will be longer and wider than the current model. The company is going to give it a muscular look. It can be made somewhat like a micro SUV, similar to Maruti’s S-Presso. With this car, the entry level segment of the company will become very strong. Now the sales of SUV segment vehicles are increasing in the Indian market. In such a situation, it can also be given a design like Tata Punch.
It is believed that the new Alto will get updated headlamp cluster, front and rear bumpers, fog lamp housing and rear taillights. The company may also offer LED DRL’s. Updates on the inside could include a new semi-digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard and upholstery can also be updated. There can be more space for the passengers inside the car.

New Alto Engine & Specifications
The current Alto is powered by a 796cc motor that produces 47 hp of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 69 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This unit is likely to be continued with the next-gen Alto. The CNG variant of the Alto generates 40 hp and 60 Nm. Fuel efficiency is 22.05 kmpl for petrol and 31.59 kmpl for CNG.

It is possible that Maruti may offer the new Alto a top-spec variant of the next-gen Alto equipped with a 1.0-litre K10C naturally aspirated motor. It has been introduced with the brand new Celerio. It generates 66 hp and 89 Nm. Transmission options include 5-speed manual and auto gear shift (AGS). The prices of the new 2022 Alto are expected to be in the same range as the existing Alto.
