After the implementation of GST 2.0 in India, the prices of top 5 midsize SUVs have been cut by up to Rs 75,000.
The central government has implemented a new and easy tax system GST 2.0 in the country a few days ago. After this, cars and bikes have become much cheaper than before. All vehicle companies have also decided to spread these benefits to customers before Diwali. The sale of trains is scheduled to increase in the coming months, as the new GST rules will be applicable with low tax rates from September 22. Here we will tell you what has been the effect of GST 2.0 on the top 5 midsize SUVs.
1. Hyundai Creta
Current Creta
The best -selling midsize SUV Creta in India has become cheaper by about Rs 70,000. Previously, the Creta’s petrol and diesel variants were taxed between 45–50 percent. However, after the implementation of GST 2.0, on all variants of Hyundai Creta, whether they are on any fuel option, a similar 40 percent GST will be charged. The price of Hyundai Creta is between Rs 11.11-20.00 lakhs. But from September 22, it will be available at a price of Rs 10.73-19.31 lakh, its price in the domestic market will be reduced to Rs 38,000-70,000.
2. Kia Seltos
Kia’s first model in the Indian market, Celtose has also become cheaper by Rs 75,000 in the country. It is available in several engine-gyrbox options, including two petrol and one diesel engines. Like the Creta, Kia Celtose was earlier 45-50 percent tax, but now it is taxed at 40 percent. This has reduced its price from Rs 40,000 to 75,000.

3. Maruti Grand Vitara
Major models of the brand in India are available with regular petrol variants as well as strong hybrid technology. While 45 percent tax is levied on standard petrol trims, 43 percent GST is levied on strong hybrid grades. However, the entire model line-up with GST 2.0 is placed in the slab of 40 percent, regardless of the powertrain setup.
The price of Maruti Grand Vitara has decreased by up to Rs 68,000 based on variants. Its current price is between Rs 11.42-20.52 lakhs, but from September 22 it can be purchased in a range of Rs 11.03-20.09 lakh. Alpha (O) 4WD trim with a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid setup and automatic torque converter transmission is getting the highest benefit of about Rs 68,000.
4. Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder
Due to GST reforms of 2025, the price of Toyota’s hyperdor has been cut by up to Rs 65,000. It has the same engine and gearbox options with Grand Vitara, so it levies the same tax between 43-45 percent. With the implementation of GST 2.0 from September 22, Toyota Hyder will levy 40 percent tax. This will reduce its price from 39,000 to 65,000 thousand rupees.
Currently, the ongoing price between Rs 11.34-19.99 will be reduced to Rs 10.95-19.57 lakh. However, the biggest advantage of implementing GST 2.0 will be V 4WD grade (1.5 liter engine with torque converter automatic gearbox), which will cost more than Rs 65,000.
5. Skoda Kushaq
Skoda Kushak is available in the Indian market with a 1.0 liter and 1.5 liter petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. Earlier it was taxed at 45 percent, but now it has been kept in 40 percent GST slab, which has reduced its price by up to Rs 66,000. The price of Kushak was between Rs 10.99-19.09 lakh, which has now been reduced from Rs 38,000 to 66,000 to Rs 10.61-18.43 lakh.
