Hero’s Xpulse 421 adventure bike is expected to debut later this year and is expected to get a new 421 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine
After a long time, Hero MotoCorp’s upcoming new Xpulse 421 has once again been spotted testing. It is believed that this adventure motorcycle can be launched by the end of this year or early next year. The new pictures that have surfaced show that the company is testing it in difficult conditions and it is now very close to its production model.
While the existing Xpulse bikes are designed for everyday use and light off-roading, the new After launch, it can become Hero’s most premium and advanced bike. The latest images have emerged from mountainous terrain, where automakers test performance at altitude, changing temperatures and rough terrain.
Talking about design, its size appears much larger than the existing Xpulse 210. The front of the bike looks tall and adventure-focused, while the rear is relatively slim. The body design around the fuel tank can help in providing better control during off-roading. The company can use a completely new platform in the new Xpulse 421. It is likely to get a steel trellis chassis, which will provide better strength for long distance travel and off-roading.
USD front forks and rear monoshock can be seen in the suspension setup. Adjustable suspension can also be available in some variants. For power, it is expected to get a new liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine of about 421 cc. This engine can generate power of about 40 HP. A 6-speed gearbox can be provided with it and the option of bi-directional quickshifter can also be available.
The wheel setup has been designed according to adventure riding. It is likely to get a 21-inch wire-spoke front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel, which will be fitted with dual-purpose tyres. Talking about the features, TFT instrument cluster, navigation, smartphone connectivity and connected technology can be found in it. Apart from this, features like riding modes, traction control, electronic throttle, switchable ABS and cruise control can also be provided.
Hero Xpulse 421 Patent
Hero Xpulse 421 will see adventure-touring elements like tall windscreen, engine protection, large side panels and high riding position. It is expected that its global debut will happen by the end of this year. When launched in India, it will compete with bikes like Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure and TVS Apache RTX 300.
