Huge demand for Mahindra SUVs in January 2026, 63,500+ units sold

Mahindra sold 63,510 SUVs in January 2026, 25 percent more than 50,659 units sold in the same month last year

Mahindra has recorded overall sales of 1,04,309 units in January 2026, which also includes exports. This figure is an annual increase of 24 percent compared to last year. This performance includes sales of utility vehicles, commercial vehicles, three-wheelers and units destined for overseas markets. As expected, the company’s SUV range contributed the most to the total sales.

Mahindra has sold 63,510 SUVs in the domestic market in January 2026, which is a growth of 25 percent year-on-year as compared to 50,659 units sold in the same month last year. Total passenger vehicles sales reached 5,39,986 units in the financial year to January 2026, up 19 per cent from 4,53,019 units recorded in the same period last year.

Strong growth has also been seen in the commercial vehicle segment. Domestic commercial vehicle sales stood at 27,656 units in January, an annual growth of 22 percent. Sales of light commercial vehicles weighing less than 2 tonnes stood at 4,009 units, registering a growth of 13 percent. Whereas in the 2 to 3.5 tonne category, 23,647 units were sold, which shows a growth of 23 percent. These figures also include sales of models like Bolero Maxx PUP range.

Including Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd’s electric three-wheelers, the company’s total three-wheeler sales stood at 9,566 units in January, a year-on-year growth of 28 per cent. Total sales of three-wheelers have reached 92,012 units since the beginning of the financial year, an increase of 28 percent. Exports also contributed significantly to this performance.

On the export front, Mahindra shipped 3,577 vehicles to overseas markets in January 2026, a growth of 5 percent compared to 3,404 units shipped in the same month last year. Total exports since the beginning of the year have reached 33,638 units, which is 23 percent higher as compared to 27,452 units recorded in the same period last year. This month, Mahindra has also achieved a big achievement in terms of bookings. Bookings for the XUV 7XO and XEV 9S were opened on January 14, and 93,689 bookings were recorded in just four hours.

Commenting on the sales performance, Nalinikant Gola Gunta, CEO, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said: “Carrying on last year’s strong sales momentum, we have had a great start to January. We have sold 63,510 units of SUVs, a growth of 25 per cent, and 27,656 units of LCVs in the sub-3.5 tonne category, a growth of 22 per cent.
