Huge demand for Mahindra XUV 7XO, will have to wait a long time for delivery

Depending on the variant, you will have to wait for the delivery of Mahindra XUV 7XO from 4 weeks to a maximum of 12 months.

Mahindra has started booking the XUV 7XO in the domestic market in the middle of this month. Customers can book online and through authorized dealerships for an amount of Rs 21,000. Deliveries have already started for some select variants. Deliveries of the top-spec AX7, AX7T and AX7L variants have started earlier, while customers of the AX, AX3 and AX5 variants will have to wait till April 2026.

The demand for this SUV has been very strong since the first day of its launch. Mahindra has confirmed that till 2 pm on the very first day of booking, a total of 93,689 bookings had been made for the XUV 7XO and XEV 9S. Based on ex-showroom prices, this equates to a booking value of over Rs 20,500 crore, which shows how popular this SUV has become among customers.

The waiting period for Mahindra XUV 7XO ranges from 4 weeks to 12 months depending on the variant, engine and drivetrain. The longest wait is for the entry-level AX variant. There is said to be a waiting period of up to 12 months on petrol and diesel manual AX variants. Automatic gearbox is not available in this trim.

Both petrol and diesel engine options are seeing a waiting period of around 5 months for the AX3 and AX5 mid-spec variants. At the same time, delivery of AX7 variants is happening relatively quickly. It may take around 4 weeks for petrol manual and automatic models, while around 6 weeks for diesel variants.

The waiting period is slightly longer for the top-end AX7L variant. There may be a wait of around 4 months for the petrol automatic version, while the diesel variants, which also include the AWD automatic exclusive to this trim, may have to wait around 6 months. Mahindra has clarified that the waiting period may vary as per dealer stock and location and the final delivery timeline is confirmed only after booking.

The design of the XUV 7XO is similar to the XUV 700, but with some new and improved changes. Its interior is completely new and it has a standard triple-screen setup with a modern design. The suspension system of the vehicle has also been improved, which will make driving more comfortable. However, the engines remain the same, consisting of 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, which come mated to 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes.
