Delivery of the new Tata Sierra may require a wait of up to 4 months, depending on the variant and transmission chosen.
Tata Sierra has received an extremely good response since its launch, and due to high demand the waiting period has increased on many of its variants. Currently, one may have to wait for the new Tata Sierra for 3 to 4 months, depending on the engine, gearbox and variant.
The waiting time for automatic variants is longer than that of manual variants, while delivery of diesel models is taking slightly longer than petrol variants. The choice of transmission plays a vital role in the delivery timeline. Typically, automatic variants may have to wait 15 to 30 days longer than manual versions, due to higher demand and initial production limitations.
Among the color options, ‘Munnar Mist’ shade is being liked the most, due to which the longest waiting period is being seen on this color. Tata Motors has confirmed that the company is gradually increasing production in line with the demand. The main reason for the huge waiting period on Sierra is its huge booking. More than 70,000 confirmed bookings were recorded within the first 24 hours of bookings opening.
Additionally, Tata also revealed that around 1.35 lakh potential customers had already configured the SUV online. Its delivery has officially started from January 15, 2026. Positioned above the Curvv in Tata’s SUV lineup, the Sierra is slated to be launched in late November 2025, with an ex-showroom price of Rs 11.49 lakh to Rs 21.49 lakh. It is available in Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+ variants.
Talking about engine options, three powertrain options are available in Tata Sierra. It has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which gives power of 106 PS and torque of 145 Nm. At the same time, the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine generates 160 PS power and 255 Nm torque. Apart from this, the 1.5-litre diesel engine offers 120 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. Transmission options include 6-speed manual, torque converter automatic and dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Sierra, built on Tata’s new ARGOS platform, has a retro design inspired by the old Sierra.
