Built on the global K1 enhanced platform, this SUV takes safety to a new level with over 65 advanced safety features, out of which 33 safety features are standard across all variants.
The Hyundai Venue received the new generation update just a few months ago and now it has been tested in the India NCAP crash test to know its safety rating. This compact SUV performed brilliantly, scoring 31.15 out of 32 points in adult safety and 44.46 out of 49 points in child safety, making it one of the safest cars in the compact SUV segment.
In terms of adult safety, the Venue performed almost perfect. It scored 15.15 out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test, where the strength of its body structure and better energy absorption were seen. It scored a full 16 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test, while it was given an “acceptable” rating in the side pole impact test.
The results of child safety were also quite good. The SUV scored 23.46 out of 24 in the dynamic crash test with child restraint system and a full 12 out of 12 in the CRS installation assessment. The remaining marks came from the vehicle assessment category, where it got 9 out of 13 and the overall score was 44.46 out of 49.
Talking about safety features, the Venue is well equipped as standard. It has dual front airbags, side curtain airbags and side chest airbags along with electronic stability control, pedestrian safety system and seat belt reminder in all variants. However, it lacks some features like knee airbag and side pelvis airbag.
ISOFIX mounts are provided only on the second row outer seats and it does not get an integrated child restraint system. However, there is a manual airbag cut-off switch for child seat installation on the front seat, which provides a little extra convenience. The models tested included diesel variants, which came with both manual and automatic transmissions and their crash test weight was recorded at 1,610 kg.
This rating applies to many variants of both petrol and diesel. With a strong body structure and comprehensive safety features, the new Hyundai Venue has emerged as one of the best value for money SUVs in its segment. Since its launch, the new Hyundai Venue has received an overwhelming response from both customers and experts and has received over 1 lakh bookings.
