Hyundai is preparing to launch a total of 26 new models between FY 2025 and FY 2030.

Hyundai Motor India at its Investor Day unveiled a detailed roadmap for the next phase of growth in India. The aim of this plan is to strengthen its domestic portfolio by 2030 and provide more options to customers. The company has made it clear through its new product and powertrain strategy that it will introduce hybrid, electric and updated petrol/diesel (ICE) vehicles in the coming years.

All this will be launched in a phased manner over the next five to six years, so that Hyundai can further strengthen its hold in India. The biggest focus of this announcement is the strong expansion on hybrid vehicles. Hyundai has confirmed that it will launch 8 new hybrid models in India by FY 2030.

This is a big step for the company, as the company is looking at hybrid technology between conventional engines and fully electric vehicles. This means that the company will gradually move customers towards electric vehicles, but in the intermediate stage will also give them hybrid options with better mileage and performance. `Models like Venue, Creta and Tucson are considered the most likely candidates for this hybrid lineup, as they are already the company’s most popular SUV models.

Most of the cars in Hyundai’s Indian car sales in FY 2025 are with petrol and diesel engines and together they have a share of about 76 percent. At the same time, the contribution of CNG variants is about 19 percent and the share of environment-friendly (green) i.e. electric and hybrid vehicles is only 5 percent.

But the picture is expected to change completely by financial year 2030. By that time, the share of eco-friendly powertrains could reach 47 percent, which would be almost equal to the combined share of petrol and diesel vehicles. At the same time, the share of CNG variants is likely to remain at around 6 percent. Hyundai plans to sell 32 models in India by FY2030, including 13 IC-engined vehicles, 8 hybrids, 5 electric vehicles and 6 CNG options.

It is worth noting that the biggest part of this will come between fiscal years 2029 and 2030, when Hyundai is going to introduce 14 new or updated models. India’s second largest carmaker is focusing on introducing 7 all-new nameplates, 6 all-new model updates, 6 new variants of existing models and 7 facelifts or minor updates. Notably, there will be four launches in FY26 which include one new model replacement, one new variant of an existing model and two facelifts.

8 launches are expected in the period FY 27 to 28, which include two new nameplates, three new models, two new variants of existing models and one facelift. The most significant developments will take place during FY29 to 30, which will see 14 launches, including five new nameplates, two new models, three new variants of models and four facelifts.
