Hyundai launches new compact SUV for India testing has been launched and has been specifically designed as per the needs and preferences of Indian customers.
A new SUV from Hyundai has been spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time, sparking discussions about the company’s future plans in the compact SUV segment. This model appears to be inspired by the strong and rugged design and it is expected that the company is planning to launch it within the next one year. The exterior of the new Hyundai SUV is quite boxy, which gives it an SUV-like look. It is believed that its length will be kept less than 4 meters.
The front and rear overhangs of the upcoming Hyundai SUV look very short. With high ground clearance, it will be able to negotiate speed breakers and potholes with ease. Its boxy shape and height will give it a powerful road presence, while the design will also make more use of cabin and boot space.
The high roof rails further reinforce the true SUV styling of this futuristic Hyundai SUV. Along with this, large square side windows and thick rocker panels also highlight its strong look. The exterior also features several modern design elements, including flush-fitted door handles, a slight bulge in the belt line near the C-pillar, a sporty roof spoiler and slim taillights with a dotted pattern. This pattern is said to be inspired by Hyundai’s parametric pixel theme.
There is every possibility that this prototype could be Hyundai’s upcoming Tata Punch.ev rival SUV, which is currently known by the codename HE1i. Its size and design match the information related to HE1i revealed so far. If this happens, this model may be launched in the Indian market as early as 2027.
It is being told that HE1i will be built on Hyundai Inster’s E-GMP (K) platform. To keep the price affordable, it will use as many local parts as possible, even the battery cells will be made in India. For this, Hyundai can use LFP battery cells made in India in collaboration with Exide Energy Solutions.
Talking about the features, this new compact SUV of Hyundai can be equipped with premium features. It is expected to get ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charger and front and rear USB Type-C ports. In terms of safety, it can also be provided with features like 360-degree camera system, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and six airbags.
