Kia Seltos 2026 has performed brilliantly in the India NCAP crash safety test and has reached the top of its segment. It has got 31.70 out of 32 points in adult safety and 45 out of 49 points in child safety, which is almost equal to the perfect score. Talking about adult safety, Seltos performed well in all major tests.
In the frontal offset crash test, it got 15.70 out of 16 points, while in the side impact test it got a full 16 out of 16 points. This reflects its strong body structure and superior safety system, which provides good protection to the passengers in case of an accident. The new generation Kia Seltos was also far ahead in child safety.
It got 24 out of 24 points in dynamic testing and 12 out of 12 points in child seat installation. Only the vehicle assessment category received a score of 9 out of 13, giving a total score of 45 out of 49. Its safety features have a big contribution in this excellent score. Front airbags, side curtain airbags and side chest airbags are provided as standard in this SUV.
Apart from this, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), seat belt reminder and pedestrian safety system are also included. However, it also has some shortcomings. There are no knee airbags and side pelvis airbags, and ISOFIX mounts are available only on the second-row outer seats.
The model tested was with a 1.5-litre diesel engine and 6-speed automatic gearbox, weighing 1,771 kg. This safety rating applies to both petrol and diesel variants. This updated model is based on the advanced K3 platform, which has significantly improved its strength and safety. Besides, its size has also become bigger than before.
Its length is 4,460 mm, width is 1,830 mm and wheelbase is 2,690 mm, which provides more space inside and better road presence. Apart from this, Kia has added new ADAS features, better safety system, more rich cabin and new digital features in it. Overall, excellent adult and child safety scores and robust safety features make this midsize SUV one of the safest cars on the market right now.
