Kia Sonet has crossed 5 lakh sales mark in India and more than 1 lakh units have been exported.

Kia India has announced a major achievement today. The company’s popular subcompact SUV Kia Sonet has crossed the sales mark of 5 lakh units in the Indian market. This achievement shows that the Kia brand has gained good recognition and trust among the Indian customers.

Since its launch, Kia Sonet has played a big role in strengthening Kia’s footprint across the country. The car has appealed to a wide range of customers, from first-time car buyers to young families. Manufactured at the Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh under Kia’s ‘Make in India, for the World’ philosophy, the Sonet is also exported to foreign markets, making it known outside India as well.

Expressing happiness on this historic milestone, Mr. Sanhak Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “Sales of 5 lakh units of Sonet is a proud moment for the entire Kia family. He said that every Sonet customer is a symbol of faith in Kia. This success is a proof that Kia’s focus on attractive design, advanced technology and reliable performance has been liked by the Indian customers. He expressed his gratitude to the customers and said that they have played an important role in this success.”

The Sonet contributes around 35 per cent to the company’s domestic sales and further strengthens Kia’s reach across the country. The success of Sonet is not limited to India only, but more than 1 lakh units have been exported to around 70 countries, including the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, Mexico and the APAC region. This has also strengthened global confidence in Kia vehicles made in India.

Sonet continues to receive an excellent response from both urban and emerging markets. This SUV has crossed the annual sales mark of more than 1 lakh units for two consecutive years. Its petrol and diesel engine options, different transmissions and feature-loaded variants provide great choice to customers. The increasing demand especially for its top variants reflects the inclination of customers towards secure, connected and premium mobility.

Kia India is expanding its presence with over 820 outlets in around 370 cities, and Sonet is playing a key role in driving sales. Currently, the Sonet is priced between Rs 7.30 lakh and Rs 14.09 lakh (ex-showroom) and was updated in January 2024.
