Kia’s new Syros EV is likely to get 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs and its design will be kept similar to the petrol and diesel (ICE) models.
Kia India is preparing to launch its new Syros EV soon. Before its launch, new pictures have surfaced, in which the electric SUV is visible without any cover. It is clear from the pictures that the design of Syros EV will remain largely the same as its petrol and diesel (ICE) models. However, some EV-specific changes will definitely be seen in it.
The exterior of the new Syros EV is almost similar to the existing Syros. It has Ivory Silver Matte color, vertical LED headlamps, flush door handles and 17-inch alloy wheels. The biggest change is the charging port on the front left fender. At the rear, the design of taillamp and tailgate has been kept the same as the ICE model.
Talking about the interior, the pictures show that it will also get a dual-tone cabin like the current Syros. Talking about the features, it is expected to get dual digital screen, automatic climate control, connected car technology, ambient LED lighting, ventilated front seats and segment-first sliding and reclining rear seats.
In terms of safety and technology, Kia can also provide advanced features like 360-degree camera, Level-2 ADAS and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L). According to reports, earlier it was believed that Syros EV will come with only 42 kWh battery pack. But now according to the new information, the company can also provide a bigger battery pack of 51.4 kWh in it. This battery is likely to be available in the top variants, which has a range of 520 km.
According to reports, Kia Syros EV can come with 15 years or lifetime battery warranty. However, the company has not yet confirmed it officially. Kia India has already given a glimpse of its upcoming hybrid (HEV) and battery electric (BEV) models for India, which clearly shows that the company is going to launch many new electrified vehicles soon. The Syros EV is expected to be launched in the next few weeks, while the Sorento Hybrid may be introduced in the Indian market after this.
Talking about the price, the ex-showroom price of Kia Syros EV can be between Rs 13.50 lakh to Rs 19 lakh. After launch, it will compete with the initial variants of Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, MG Windsor EV and Maruti e-Vitara.
