Mahindra will add many new SUVs including electric ones to its portfolio in the coming years in the Indian market
Mahindra has made a strong presence in the Indian market this year by launching new models like BE 6, XEV 9e, facelifted Thar, facelifted Bolero series and XEV 9S. Now the company is preparing to launch five more new models in the next three years. The first among these will be Mahindra XUV 7XO, which will be the facelift version of the existing XUV700.
Its debut in the Indian market will be on January 5, 2026 and its booking has also started. It will include new and sharp headlamps, bolder front grille, taillights like the XEV 9S. Talking about the cabin, the XUV 7XO will be the first SUV in Mahindra’s ICE range to feature a triple-screen cockpit layout, as previously seen in the XEV 9S and XEV 9E electric models.
It is expected to get 5G connectivity, new infotainment interface, Alexa voice support, Boss Mode, new air vents, better quality interior material, new center console and changed steering wheel. After this, in early 2026, Mahindra will launch XUV 3XO EV, which will be a fully electric version of XUV 3XO. Around 35 kWh battery can be provided in it. It will be cheaper than the XUV400 and will compete with the Tata Nexon EV.
A facelift of Scorpio N is also expected and it has been seen several times during testing. The updated Scorpio N may get redesigned headlamps and taillamps, new 18-inch alloy wheels and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
In 2027, Mahindra will launch the production version of the Vision.S concept. This new NU_IQ will be a compact SUV based on monocoque platform, which will have boxy design, powerful looks and more ground clearance. It will be positioned above the XUV 3XO.
In 2028, the production version of the Vision.T concept is expected to hit the market. It will also be based on the NU_IQ platform and can become a fully electric alternative to the Thar Rocks. It is likely to get all-terrain tyres, high ground clearance, straight windscreen, high seating position and the option of dual-motor AWD, which will make it extremely capable for off-roading.
