Maruti Suzuki will bring 4 new SUVs in India including electric and hybrid models

In the next 2 years, Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch 4 new SUVs in India.

Maruti Suzuki is preparing for its biggest product plan ever. The company is now paying special attention to the rapidly growing SUV segment. Following the continued success of the existing models, the brand is now set to further expand its utility vehicle portfolio. Several new SUVs are already in the works, which shows that Maruti wants to further strengthen its hold in this fastest growing segment of the Indian market. The carmaker is working towards making inroads into all the major SUV segments and currently has four new models in the pipeline.

1. Maruti Suzuki and Vitara

Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch its first electric car E-Vitara. It is expected that it will be available for sale in Nexa showrooms by December. This car is built on the exclusive Heartect e-platform and will include advanced features along with excellent safety standards. The model is already being sold in some foreign markets, while for India it will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant.

The upcoming E Vitara will be available with two battery configurations and both are compatible with fast-charging technology. The larger pack is expected to deliver a range of over 500 km per charge, making it one of the most efficient electric cars in its segment. On the inside, Maruti is including many premium features in this SUV, including a large touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, digital driver display, etc.

2. Maruti Suzuki 7-seater SUV

Maruti Suzuki is reportedly working on a three-row (7-seater) version of the Grand Vitara. This model will be for those customers who want more space and premium look. The new version will compete with SUVs like Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari and will be offered as a family and upmarket option. If the project is approved, the extended Grand Vitara could be launched in the next two years.

3. Maruti Suzuki Micro SUV

Maruti Suzuki is working on an all-new micro SUV, which is likely to be launched between late 2026 and early 2027. Positioned below the Brezza in the brand’s lineup, this upcoming model will give tough competition to segment leaders like the Tata Punch and Hyundai Xcent. Its key features may include Maruti’s next-generation in-house hybrid powertrain, which is expected to deliver a mileage of over 35 km/litre.

4. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid

It is believed that Maruti Suzuki is preparing a hybrid version of the Franxx. The company’s smart hybrid system can be given in it, which is currently present in the export-spec Desire. Apart from this, this hybrid version is also expected to get premium features like ADAS, which will make it more advanced in terms of technology and safety.
