MG Majestor SUV launched in Indian market, price starts from Rs 40.99 lakh

MG Majestor SUV gets twin-turbo diesel engine. Which gives power of 215.5 PS and torque of 478.5 Nm, which is the highest in this segment.

JSW MG Motor India has launched the new Majestor in the Indian market. It is a more than 5 meter long full-size SUV, which has triple differential lock, massaging front seats and many premium features. The company has tried to make it more premium and off-road focused than ladder-frame SUVs. The starting ex-showroom price of MG Majestor has been kept at Rs 40.99 lakh.

It will be available in rear-wheel drive automatic variants with 6-seater and 7-seater layouts. Whereas, the price of 4WD variant is Rs 44.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will be available only in 7-seater configuration. Compared to MG Gloster, many major changes have been made in Majestor in both design and features. It has a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, which generates power of 215.5 PS and torque of 478.5 Nm. It has become one of the most powerful diesel SUVs in India.

8-speed automatic gearbox is available as standard in both variants. Off-road features like 10 terrain modes and crawl control are also provided in the 4WD version. The most important thing is that front, rear and center differential locks are available in MG Majestor. The company claims that this is the first SUV of its category, which has a triple differential lock setup. This provides better grip and traction even on difficult roads.

Talking about size, its length is 5,046 mm, width is 2,016 mm and height is 1,870 mm. Its wheelbase is 2,950 mm, due to which its road presence looks quite strong. It has a ground clearance of 219 mm and water wading capacity of up to 810 mm.

The design has a large front grille, high bonnet, vertical lighting elements and connected rear lights. Many premium features are available in the cabin. The front seats come with ventilated, massage function and memory feature. Apart from this, it also has 3-zone climate control, dual wireless charger and panoramic sunroof.

This SUV has dual 12.3-inch screen, 12-speaker JBL audio system and more than 75 connected car features. Black theme interior, ambient lighting and powered front seats give it a more premium feel. For safety, it has been provided with Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree HD camera, electronic stability control and many traction control features. Electronic parking brake and column-mounted gear selector are also available.

MG is also offering 3 years unlimited kilometer warranty, roadside assistance and free labor service on this SUV under its Shield scheme. The company is also offering a buyback plan with residual value up to 70 percent. In the Indian market, MG Majestor will compete with SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan.
