MG Majestor will be launched on February 12 and will be India’s first D+ segment SUV, along with which it will also be provided with many premium features.
MG Motor India is going to launch its new full-size SUV Majestor in the premium SUV segment, which will be positioned above the existing Gloster SUV. This new SUV is scheduled to be officially launched on 12 February 2026 and will compete directly with Toyota’s Fortuner. MG Majestor will be launched in the D+ SUV segment, where it can become a strong contender in terms of size, power and off-road capabilities.
This SUV is expected to get a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine, which will generate approximately 213 bhp power and 478 Nm torque. Power will be sent to the wheels through an automatic gearbox and it is also likely to get a four-wheel-drive (4WD) system. MG has also started highlighting the off-road capability of the Majestor through teasers. It will have different terrain modes like Rock, Sand and Snow.
This SUV will be provided with 19-inch large two-tone alloy wheels and 265/65 R19 Apollo Apterra HT tyres, which will provide better grip on difficult roads. In the recently released teaser, it is also shown being tested in challenging areas like Mount Japfu in Nagaland. MAJESTOR has successfully overcome steep climbs, rocky roads, slippery surfaces and difficult slopes during advanced testing and real-world validation. The test was conducted to test the SUV’s off-road capabilities, traction control and terrain management systems in real conditions.
Talking about the design, MG Majestor will be based on the body-on-frame platform of Maxus D90, but it has been given a more powerful look than Gloster. It will have a muscular front grille, split LED headlamps, sharp LED DRLs, skid plates, body cladding and a strong SUV stance. The rear section will be provided with LED taillamps, Majestor badging and large exhaust outlets.
Inside the cabin, the MG Majestor will be equipped with premium features. It will have a large touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, panoramic sunroof and premium audio system. Apart from this, powered and ventilated seats, three-zone automatic climate control, 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS safety features will also be provided.
Talking about the price, the possible ex-showroom price of MG Majestor can be between Rs 40 lakh to Rs 45 lakh. After launch, it will give tough competition to SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming VW Tayron. MG Majestor can be a great option for those customers who are looking for a powerful, feature-loaded and off-road ready premium SUV.
