JSW MG Motor India’s electric car sales to increase by 111 percent in 2025 compared to 2024
JSW MG Motor India today announced that MG Windsor has achieved a new milestone by becoming India’s best selling electric car in 2025. With sales of 46,735 units in 2025 alone, MG Windsor has set a new and biggest ever benchmark in the Indian four-wheeler EV market, which no other automobile manufacturer has been able to achieve so far.
The success of MG Windsor is a result of its strong value proposition and its immense popularity among families. This car quickly became the choice of customers due to its best-in-segment cabin space, excellent comfort, modern features and smooth driving experience. MG Windsor is not only considered to be India’s best-selling EV, but it has also become one of the most favorite and most award-winning electric cars in the country.
On this achievement, Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said, “MG Windsor is a modern and great car, which has given a new identity to the EV segment on the basis of its utility, new technology and futuristic design. He said that Windsor has inspired even those people to buy electric vehicles, who were confused about it earlier, and today they have happily become EV owners. The year 2025 has been very successful for the company. MG Motor India recorded an overall growth of 19 percent in the year 2025, while the sales of electric vehicles saw a tremendous growth of 111 percent on an annual basis. The demand for MG EV is not limited only to metro cities, but its craze has increased rapidly in Tier-2, Tier-3 cities and emerging markets as well. MG Windsor sales have increased by more than 20 percent in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the fourth quarter of 2024.
MG Windsor is available under BaaS model at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh (₹3.9 per km*). It has a power of 100 kW (136 PS) and torque of 200 Nm. The MG Windsor comes with two battery options, with the 38 kWh battery pack offering a range of 332 km. Whereas the PRO variant has a 52.9 kWh battery pack, which provides an excellent range of up to 449 km.
In terms of design, the ‘aeroglide’ design of MG Windsor makes it different from ordinary cars. Inside, it has been provided with ‘Aero Lounge’ seats that tilt back up to 135 degrees, which are quite comfortable and do not cause fatigue even in long journeys. Apart from this, it also has a large 15.6-inch GRANDVIEW touchscreen display.
