The new Volkswagen Taigun has been launched at a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh and gets updated exterior and interior along with many new features.
Volkswagen India has today launched the new Taigun in India at a starting price of Rs 10,99,900 (ex-showroom). In the new Taigun, customers get about 40 new updates, 9 color options and a new 8-speed automatic transmission with 1.0L TSI petrol engine.
Volkswagen has also given a special buyback offer with it, in which if you use the car for 3 years or 30,000 km, then the company promises to give you back up to 75% of its ex-showroom price. Under this new program, customers will get a better ownership experience which includes assured residual value, confidence in ownership, exchange bonus and easy upgrade option. This offer will be applicable on new Taigun bookings made till 31 May 2026.
Commenting on the launch, Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, “Taigun has been an important part of our India SUVW strategy. With the new Taigun, we want to give the customers the best combination of features, performance, design and safety. The higher variants of this SUV are already very popular and account for about 60% of the total sales. The new Taigun now looks sharper and more premium than before. It has a newly designed front grille, which has an integrated light band. Along with this, illuminated logos are also provided in the front and rear, which are seen for the first time in this model. The front bumper has also been redesigned, while the rear gets a new tail light design with horizontal LED light bar and sequential turn indicators.
Other highlights include new glossy black alloy wheels and new color options like Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey. The layout of the cabin has been kept modern, but now it is equipped with more technology and gives a premium feel. The new Taigun has a 25.65 cm infotainment system, which supports many apps, along with a 26.03 cm fully digital instrument cluster. Volkswagen has also added features like turn-by-turn navigation, AI-based “Hello Volkswagen” voice assistant and capacitive touch climate control.
GT variants get sporty interiors, dark theme, aluminum pedals and ambient lighting. Talking about the features, it has panoramic sunroof (with summer function), ventilated front seats (6-way electric adjustment), rear wiper (with intermittent control), wireless smartphone charger and USB-C fast charger. For safety, it has more than 40 features, which include 6 airbags, electronic stability control, multi-collision braking, hill hold assist and front-rear parking sensors.
Volkswagen has also highlighted its 5-star GNCAP safety rating, which is for both adults and children. Talking about engines, it has 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI options. The 1.0L TSI engine produces 115 hp of power and 178 Nm of torque, and now gets a new 8-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5L TSI engine generates 150 HP power and 250 Nm torque, which comes with 7-speed DSG and has Active Cylinder Technology for better mileage. Volkswagen has also expanded its range of variants, which include Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, GT Line, Topline, GT Plus Chrome and GT Plus Sport.
