Nissan’s Gravite compact MPV will be launched soon in the Indian market.

Nissan Gravite

Nissan Gravitas will be available with 1.0 liter NA and turbo petrol engines in manual and automatic transmission options.

Nissan’s upcoming Gravitas compact MPV is an important part of the company’s future plans in India. This is one of the three new vehicles coming in the next one and a half years. Along with the Gravite, Nissan will also launch a 5-seater C-segment SUV named Tekton, while a larger 7-seater C-SUV is already slated for production in 2027.

These three models will be manufactured in India and will also be exported to global markets. However, the launch of Nissan Gravite has been slightly delayed. Despite the delay, the Gravitas will remain Nissan India’s first car to be launched in 2026. It is expected that dealership activities and deliveries to customers will begin from March 2026.

The entry of Gravite comes at a time when Nissan’s export business is going through a strong phase. In December 2025 alone, the company sent 13,470 vehicles abroad, which is its highest monthly export figure in the last decade. Total exports for the entire calendar year stood at more than 12 lakh units, further cementing the Chennai plant’s importance as a major manufacturing and export hub.

Talking about engine options, Nissan Gravit will get a 1.0-litre petrol engine, which will be offered in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions. With this, the option of manual and automatic transmission is expected. Affordable pricing could be one of the biggest strengths of the Gravite, just like its Renault sibling.

This MPV is based on the CMF-A platform, which is also used in Renault Triber. However, Nissan has done a lot of work on its design to give it a distinct identity. The front features a wide blacked-out grille, thin LED light strip, integrated headlamps and raised bonnet lines. The Gravite badging at the front gives it a distinct identity.

At the rear, connected LED taillamps, straight tailgate and roof-mounted spoiler are available. Sporty elements like skid plate have been added to the bumper. Talking about the inside, it will come with a three-row cabin, in which the seats can be changed as per the need and the space has been used well. The complete feature list has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to have features like touchscreen system, digital driver display and controls on steering.
