How to get PUC certificate made

Law regarding PUC certificate
After some time, it becomes mandatory to have PUC certificate of the car. If you do not have a PUC certificate, or it has expired, then the challan is issued under Section 190(2) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. There can be a fine of Rs 10,000 or 6 months jail or both. Not only this, the transport department can also suspend the license of the vehicle owner for 3 months if there is no PUC certificate from its side. If the vehicle is causing more pollution even after having the PUC certificate, then a new PUC certificate will have to be obtained within 7 days.
Checking being done in Delhi
Agencies like the Transport Department, Food and Supplies Department, Delhi Municipal Corporation and Delhi Traffic Police are responsible for enforcing these rules. If your vehicle does not have a valid PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate and you take it to a nearby petrol pump, the consequences can be more serious than the usual fine. Under the ‘Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989’, officials will issue the challan on the spot. This work can be done either by a traffic police officer or through an automated system. The fine amount is expected to be Rs 10,000 or more.
